The coin’s reverse portrays a beautifully detailed Chinese dragon and koi fish, two highly significant symbols in Chinese culture. The dragon represents strength, power and good fortune, while the koi is traditionally associated with perseverance, ambition and success. The design also features a flaming pearl, a symbol of wisdom and prosperity.
The obverse features the Queen Elizabeth II Memorial Obverse, including the dates of Her Majesty’s reign, 1952–2022, together with the coin’s monetary denomination.
